Montgomery County Public Defender
Justice For All
Since 1976, the Montgomery County Law Office of the Public Defender has provided zealous and effective legal representation to indigent people accused of criminal conduct that can result in a loss of freedom. We provide these legal services to all persons and base qualification decisions solely on economic status.
Led by Theresa G. Haire, the office utilizes a holistic defense model designed to achieve better outcomes for our clients while still zealously protecting their fundamental rights, liberties and dignities.
What we do
The Law Office of the Public Defender operates to defend citizens who are accused of a criminal offense and who are at risk of going to jail. This includes:
- Felonies
- Misdemeanors
- Preliminary Hearings
- Extraditions
- Juvenile Delinquency
- Appeals
